If exposure to information that makes you look bad is the defining line between whether or not someone is a friend, then maybe you should stop doing things that propagate that bad information? It's always the people who are learning these things that are the bad guys, but not the person doing these things. If you don't want to look bad, don't do bad things. It's so simple.
