Your private key is not your identity.
But bro, what if you get hacked. Answer me that bro
Like, axe murdered hacked? 😳
Now this makes me curious about these follow up questions.

What is my identity?

Who am I really?

What makes me, me?
You gonna do this all day? 🤨
You’re free to fuck off.
Maybe you can switch to ranting about zaps instead of likes. 🤨
Its been like a whole day.
corndalorian is implicitly referencing an earlier argument he was in today that he's too much of a pussy to actually repost shit from or explicitly mention
Correct. The LLM trained on your notes and replies is your identity.
it is the key that allows you to express yourself from the identity that you have chosen to share with your network
Your reputation is your identity, your private key just unlocks it.
(((obviously)))
As obvious as the number of genders.
Your public key?
I have your public key. Do I have your identity?
I think of it like a digital identity like a driver's licence can be used for identity. It proves the pwrson you are talking control controls a private key however, we can not be certain nobody else controls this key.
Yes, you stole it and sold it on the dark web 😔
Tell me, if able to steal something of value and then sell it for money, indicating desired value, as if a Picasso, how the fuck fictive then?

@npub1sn0…rjdv9
Never has been. Obviously 🙄 🤣
Yet aids doesn’t give a rats ass.

Dial E for Evil
#aides
Then went do so many people worry about losing their nsec?
It’s proof of identity granting authority to speak on behalf of said identity. It’s not nothing. Can I have yours?
It’s not proof of your identity. If you lost it you wouldn’t lose your identity. You would just tell everyone you had to start using a new key and start spreading that info around. People that care enough would follow your new key. If mine ever gets publicly compromised I’ll be happy to send it to you.
It’s absolutely proof of your identity. Just like a passport or any other form of information which is unique to you the individual. It’s literally an identifier, but in a system of trust built on self-attestation there is no way to have it reissued. Yeah, the stakes here are lower but to pretend it’s worthless is to dismiss the value of self sovereignty.
Why do? Ego? Simple answer.
Maybe it’s the time invested? Or you just like NSEC and don’t want to waste time creating another one, etc
