@npub15vz…ck4um pod, where they dicuss if money needs to have a store of value function, reminded me of this post I wrote 2 years ago.
As money itself is a market good, it can never be totally untethered from the goods it is pricing. Like achieving some completely objective unit of measurement.
But I think intuitively, and also what has born out in practice, is that to get closest to an objective unit of measurement, the unit we are measuring against should be as fixed as possible (and thus a store of value).
